About the Position

We are seeking a highly motivated PhD researcher to join our Research Unit focusing on Central Nervous System Regeneration (CNR) at Helmholtz Zentrum München.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research activities focusing on the function of glial cells following brain injury
  • Develop and implement advanced techniques such as single cell and spatial transcriptomics, intracranial injections, and development of new assays for brain injuries in human models (brain organoids)
  • Analyze and integrate genetic and physiological data from animal models, human models and human samples
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to integrate findings and contribute to high-impact publications
  • Present research findings at national and international scientific meetings
Requirements
  • Master's degree in a relevant field and a strong interest in glial biology
  • Demonstrable experience in molecular biology techniques, animal models, or glial biology
  • Outstanding motivation to participate in a competitive research program
  • Excellent English language proficiency, both written and spoken
