Job Title: Lead Engineer Sustainability

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Engineer Sustainability to join our team at SABIC. As a key member of our Technical department, you will be responsible for driving sustainability and energy initiatives across our site in Gelsenkirchen, Germany.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve sustainability and energy performance, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and SABIC's internal standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize sustainability and energy projects, and lead their execution.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to operating units to meet sustainability and energy targets.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including EHSS, Operations, and external partners, to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Monitor and report on sustainability and energy performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Supply Engineering or a related field, with a minimum of 5-8 years of experience in sustainability and energy management.
  • Proven track record of driving sustainability and energy initiatives, with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders and build strong relationships.
  • Fluent German and English language skills, with the ability to communicate effectively in both languages.
