Security Platform Engineer

Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated security professional who is passionate about protecting platforms and implementing effective security strategies. If you excel in fast-paced environments and enjoy identifying potential threats and vulnerabilities, this role may be ideal for you.
As a Platform Security Engineer, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our platform's security posture. Your responsibilities will include conducting penetration tests, engaging in threat detection, and continuously refining our security framework. Collaboration with various teams will be essential to enforce best practices and security measures, ensuring our platform remains secure and resilient.
Key Responsibilities
- Penetration Testing: Execute penetration tests on platforms and new releases to discover and address vulnerabilities.
- Security Audits: Regularly audit and enhance security controls such as WAF, DDoS mitigation, and bot protection.
- Threat Detection: Proactively identify security issues through threat hunting and implement measures to close any gaps.
- Security Assessments: Conduct security architecture and source code assessments to uphold strong security practices.
- Cloud Security Enhancements: Continuously refine cloud security architecture and automate best practices for credential management.
- Policy Development: Contribute to the refinement of cloud security policies and processes across the organization.
- Advocacy for Best Practices: Promote a security-first mindset in platform development.
- Secure Development Practices: Ensure adherence to secure coding practices across all development initiatives, providing support and training to engineering teams.
- Bot Defense: Implement and oversee bot protection and attack defense strategies. Monitor traffic for unusual activities and respond to security incidents.
Candidate Profile
- Security Expertise: A minimum of 4 years of experience in security within AWS and container environments.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with tools and platforms such as Cloudflare, AWS, Burpsuite, Kubernetes, Docker, Sonarqube, and Gitlab.
- Incident Response Experience: Proven ability to manage security incidents effectively.
- Development Skills: Proficient in programming/scripting languages such as Golang, Python, or Bash.
- CI/CD Understanding: Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, OAuth, SAML, and bot management is advantageous.
- Collaborative Spirit: A team-oriented mindset, supporting colleagues and fostering collaboration.
- Adaptability: Strong work ethic, self-motivated, and well-organized, thriving in a dynamic environment.
- Certifications: OSCP/OSCE certifications are preferred.
Qualifications
- At least 4 years of experience in security within AWS and container environments.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, OAuth, SAML, and bot management is a plus.
- Experience with tools such as Cloudflare, AWS, Burpsuite, Kubernetes, Docker, Sonarqube, and Gitlab.
- Strong security knowledge of AWS.
- Experience in managing security incidents.
- Development/scripting skills in Golang, Python, or Bash.
