Senior Computational Methods Specialist for BioSAXS Data Analysis

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Officer to join our team at EMBL. As a Senior Technical Officer, you will play a key role in developing and implementing computational methods for the analysis of biological SAXS data.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement new data analysis methods for SAXS data
- Collaborate with users on their data analysis needs and adapt approaches for advanced experiments
- Contribute to SAXS services, including the development and maintenance of the SASBDB database
- Present BioSAXS activities at conferences and workshops
- Provide user support as a Local Contact and troubleshoot technical and operational issues
Requirements
- Doctoral degree or equivalent qualification in computer science, mathematics, physics, and/or engineering, or a degree in biological sciences with demonstrated experience in computational methods development
- Strong proficiency in Python
- Experience in database maintenance and development or in data analysis pipeline would be a plus
- Previous experience in SAXS/SANS or structural biology is advantageous
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently while collaborating within a team
What We Offer
- Contract duration: 3 years
- Grading: Grade 6 or 7 depending on experience and qualifications
- Monthly salary starting at €4,459 or €5,117 after tax but excl. pension & insurances
