We equip life science and analytical laboratories globally with a range of instruments, software, services, consumables, applications, and expertise. Our mission is to empower customers to uncover the insights they need to excel in their endeavors and positively impact the world.

Located in Waldbronn, near Karlsruhe, Agilent's software and informatics division operates within multi-functional teams, tackling a diverse array of products in the analytical laboratory sector. Our Multivendor Instrument Control Program significantly improves the interoperability of Agilent's hardware and software solutions in varied laboratory settings. We are looking for an experienced, innovative, and enthusiastic colleague to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate within a multi-functional team, including scrum masters, product owners, product support engineers, architects, developers, and testers.
  • Partner with software developers from external organizations and manufacturers to introduce new instrument functionalities and ensure seamless interoperability in laboratory environments.

This role is primarily based in Waldbronn under a hybrid work model (3 days onsite, 2 days remote), but we welcome remote candidates from Germany with occasional travel to our Waldbronn facility.

Qualifications:

  • A University Degree in Software Engineering or a related field.
  • Several years of relevant experience in developing software for technical applications.
  • Proficiency in object-oriented software development for Microsoft Windows, ideally using C#, .NET, and Visual Studio.
  • Strong skills in debugging and refactoring complex legacy code.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Agile Scrum methodologies.
  • Experience with software configuration management and DevOps tools (e.g., Git, Jira, Jenkins).
  • Knowledge of implementing and troubleshooting inter-process communication.
  • Proficient speaking skills in German.
  • Experience in control and data acquisition for industrial or scientific instruments/devices.

What We Offer:

  • A strong company culture rooted in trust, respect, and integrity.
  • Engaging responsibilities within highly motivated, international project teams.
  • Numerous opportunities for personal growth and tailored training programs.
  • A vibrant local community of software developers with diverse backgrounds.
  • Attractive working conditions, flexible hours, on-campus amenities, work-life balance, employer-funded pension, and additional social benefits.
  • Various in-house interest groups for socializing and recreational activities (e.g., soccer, board games, fitness, yoga, beach volleyball, theater, and music).
