The German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join our team in Heidelberg, Germany. As a postdoctoral researcher, you will be part of a dynamic and interdisciplinary team working on the development of novel machine learning approaches for non-invasive tumor profiling.
Our research focuses on the analysis of liquid biopsy samples using next-generation sequencing (NGS) data. We aim to develop diagnostic panels for non-invasive diagnosis and monitoring of tumor diseases. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and implementation of machine learning algorithms for the analysis of NGS data, as well as the integration of clinical information and imaging data.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machine learning, bioinformatics, or a related field, and experience in the analysis of NGS data. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently are essential. The position is available from January 2025 and is initially limited to 2 years.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement machine learning algorithms for the analysis of NGS data
- Integrate clinical information and imaging data into the analysis pipeline
- Collaborate with the research team to develop and implement novel machine learning approaches
- Present research results at international conferences and publish in top-tier journals
Requirements
- PhD in machine learning, bioinformatics, or a related field
- Experience in the analysis of NGS data
- Strong background in machine learning and programming skills (e.g., Python, R)
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently
