Postdoctoral Researcher in Machine Learning and Tumor Profiling

We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join our team at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) in Heidelberg, Germany. The successful candidate will work on developing novel machine learning approaches for non-invasive tumor profiling using liquid biopsy samples.
The research department of Prof. Dr. Holger Sültmann and PD Dr. Magdalena Görtz have joined forces to advance novel multi-omics profiling technologies. Our aim is to develop diagnostic panels for non-invasive diagnosis and monitoring of tumor diseases.
Your Tasks- Develop integrative analysis approaches to establish disease-relevant signatures using NGS data from liquid biomaterials
- Apply machine learning methods to large datasets and combine data from liquid biopsies, clinical information, and imaging
- Process and integrate modalities into harmonized data structures
- Master's degree and PhD in computational biology, bioinformatics, mathematics, physics, computer science or a related discipline
- Previous experience in NGS data analysis and management
- Experience in big data analysis, machine learning, and modelling is desirable
- High motivation to work in an interdisciplinary team including clinicians, wet lab scientists, and others
- Ability to work independently and creatively
- Excellent communication skills in English and German
