SCHOTT is looking for a proactive Technology and New Business Manager to join our corporate "New Venture" team. In this pivotal role, you will focus on identifying and cultivating SCHOTT's business prospects to establish a robust innovation pipeline.
This position is part of a tailored development program designed for high-potential individuals aiming to progress into new roles within 3 to 5 years through self-directed growth. The program provides insights into diverse business sectors, networking opportunities, and visibility at the executive level.
Your Responsibilities
- Identify strategic areas for new business opportunities at SCHOTT and analyze technological trends within relevant markets and applications.
- Conduct market and competitor monitoring utilizing various information sources.
- Assess technologies for new business prospects and generate innovative business concepts. Assist in evaluating business ideas concerning volume, profitability, cost structures, business models, technology, competitive positioning, risks, intellectual property, and roadmapping.
- Initiate technological studies and support New Business projects concerning commercial aspects such as business models, competition analysis, and customer relationship development.
- Lead smaller projects and coordinate collaborations with academic institutions and research organizations.
Your Profile
You should possess an excellent honors degree in a scientific discipline, preferably with a PhD, or a university degree in a technical or natural science field with a doctorate and additional business training; ideally, you have a background in functional materials.
With over 3 years of international experience in business or new business development within a technology firm or a prestigious consultancy with a strong technological focus, you will excel in translating technology into business opportunities. You should demonstrate strong analytical and conceptual abilities, an entrepreneurial mindset, and knowledge of relevant technological trends impacting SCHOTT.
Additionally, a proven track record of successful collaboration in international projects as part of cross-functional teams, ideally with project management experience, is essential. Proficiency in business English (both written and spoken) is required, and knowledge of German is a significant advantage.
