Certification Engineer for Medical Devices

A Certification Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and quality of medical devices by providing high-quality certification services that meet clients' needs efficiently and effectively. This position requires strong technical knowledge, analytical skills, and the ability to interpret standards, processes, and procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Manage certification projects concurrently, ensuring compliance with safety requirements and meeting deadlines.
- Evaluate products against national and international standards, making informed decisions based on precedent.
- Provide technical guidance, analysis, and recommendations for product testing, compliance, and maintenance.
- Collaborate with lab technicians to create work orders, test samples, and review results.
- Mentor team members to develop their expertise in certification and testing.
- Communicate with customers regarding project management and provide technical support.
- Perform risk and hazard analyses, ensuring safety aspects are addressed.
- Review software and usability documentation for compliance.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.
- State-certified technician or master craftsman in electrical engineering with 4+ years of experience.
- Thorough knowledge of standards and testing procedures.
- Knowledge of CSA and UL standards, as well as IEC 60601 series.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong focus on customer service.
- Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of autonomy.
