Role Overview: At our site in Penzberg, Munich, we are engaged in the development of cutting-edge diagnostic tools and therapeutic solutions targeting infectious diseases caused by emerging pathogens. This role involves collaboration with academic and industrial partners, contributing to product development and scientific literature.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the production and characterization of recombinant proteins in compliance with BSL-2 safety standards.
  • Manage the complete workflow from construct design to molecular cloning, production in various host organisms, purification, and biophysical characterization.

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in biochemistry, biophysics, molecular biology, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of protein chemistry, including proficiency in computational structure prediction and engineering tools.
  • A minimum of three years of hands-on experience in recombinant protein production utilizing advanced cloning and purification techniques; familiarity with viral proteins or antibodies is advantageous.
  • Experience with biophysical methods such as DLS, SEC-MALS, or MST.
  • A strong desire to innovate and implement new methodologies, including AI-based protein design.
  • Ability to work independently and in a structured manner, with a commitment to professional development.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills in both English and German.
  • A collaborative spirit and enthusiasm for interdisciplinary teamwork in the life sciences.
