Job Title: Clinical Research Nurse I

Georgetown University's Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Research Nurse I to join our team. As a Clinical Research Nurse I, you will play a critical role in the coordination and management of clinical trials, ensuring the highest level of patient care and research integrity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the overall coordination of assigned clinical trials throughout the trial lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with investigators and senior study team members to ensure seamless trial execution.
  • Interface with study participants and obtain informed consent according to protocol and regulatory guidelines.
  • Coordinate study-related procedures and assessments while maintaining protocol integrity and patient safety.
  • Document all study-related activity, including medical data, in the participant's medical record and patient research chart.
  • Conduct follow-up with study participants and provide clinical and administrative nursing support to Clinical Research Coordinator and Clinical Research Nurse positions.
  • Ensure site compliance with research protocols by reviewing regulatory requirements and implementing appropriate methods, practices, and procedures.
  • Coordinate collection of research specimens and schedule in-service training for staff on assigned clinical trials.
  • Regularly update the Clinical Trials Management System (CTMS) with patient information and key dates to support financial management of clinical trials.
  • Collaborate with Data Coordinator(s) to ensure documentation is complete and accurate, and assist with query resolution.
  • Document and report serious adverse events per protocol and institutional policy.
  • Act as a liaison with hospital staff, physicians, IRB, review committees, clinical research finance team, and auditors.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree, BLS certification, and RN license in the District of Columbia.
  • Three to five years of nursing experience in a hospital, clinic, or similar healthcare setting.
  • Up to two years of clinical research experience.
  • Strong candidates exhibit knowledge of clinical research, research processes, and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
Work Mode Designation:

This is a full-time position.

Pay Range:

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position is $66,783.00 - $126,720.23.

Compensation is determined by a number of factors, including the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.
