Digital Solutions Developer for Generative AI

Position Overview
We are seeking a Full Stack Developer for GenAI applications to join our ZDP Digital Technology Accelerator unit. In this role, you will be instrumental in enhancing high-priority digital technologies, particularly in the realm of Generative AI, ensuring their effective integration across the ZEISS group.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications primarily using Python and React, focusing on backend infrastructure, server-side logic, database integration, API development, and user interface design.
- Collaborate closely with data scientists and AI researchers to seamlessly integrate Generative AI models into web-based solutions.
- Architect and implement RESTful APIs and microservices to support robust application functionality.
- Refactor and optimize existing codebases to enhance performance and reliability.
- Ensure application stability, scalability, and security through rigorous testing and proactive issue resolution.
- Leverage Azure cloud services for application deployment, management, and scaling.
- Engage in code reviews, testing, and debugging to uphold high coding standards.
- Stay informed about the latest industry trends and technologies to continuously improve development practices.
Qualifications
- A university degree in computer science, natural sciences, or engineering, coupled with a strong interest in data engineering and digital products.
- Several years of experience in developing production-grade software.
- Proven expertise in Python and related frameworks (e.g., Django, Flask) or similar technology stacks.
- Strong proficiency in React or comparable JavaScript front-end libraries.
- Solid understanding of front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
- Experience with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker.
- Knowledge of Azure cloud services is advantageous (e.g., Azure App Service, Azure Storage).
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
- A passion for exploring new digital technologies and advancing Generative AI platforms.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively with interdisciplinary and international teams.
- Fluent in English; advanced German language skills are a plus.
