Molecular Lab Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Molecular Lab Technician to join our team at Leibniz-Institut für Gewässerökologie und Binnenfischerei. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the investigation on the golden alga Prymnesium parvum within the ODER~SO project.
Key Responsibilities:- Support the sampling of water samples from the Odra river basin
- Carry out DNA extraction of the respective water samples
- Perform QPCR analysis of water samples
- Support a monitoring to assess the distribution and abundance of Prymnesium parvum in the Odra basin and other sampling sites
- Close collaboration with other working groups in the project
- Work experience as a lab technician with a focus on molecular techniques
- Experience in QPCR is required
- Practical experience with fish rearing, field work and in experimentation is advantageous
- Driving license is required
- The will and ability to travel for the field work are essential
- Communication skills and ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team
- Excellent German or excellent English skills are required

Salary is paid according to the German salary scheme for the public sector (TVöD Bund). It is a full-time position (100 %). The position is principally suited for part-time work. The position is funded through a fixed-term project, limited until October 31st, 2025.
