We are seeking a highly skilled System Engineer to join our team at the Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry in Martinsried, Germany.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for the administration and conception of our Exchange Server HA instance, including backup and storage systems. Additionally, they will design and administer our Active Directory and Windows server services, including backup and disaster recovery. The ideal candidate will also have experience with software distribution systems and software packaging.
Key Responsibilities- Administration and conception of Exchange Server HA instance
- Design and administration of Active Directory and Windows server services
- Administration and design of software distribution systems
- Contact person for helpdesk (third-level support)
- Planning and expansion of Windows environment
- Successfully completed studies in the IT sector or equivalent training with relevant professional experience
- Sound knowledge and experience with Windows Server 2016 to Server 2022 and Windows server services
- Very good knowledge of Exchange Server 2016 and newer versions
- Good knowledge and experience in setting up Active Directory domain structures
- Administration with PowerShell and command line
- Experience and knowledge of software distribution systems and software packaging
- Programming knowledge (PowerShell, C#) desirable
- Experience with and knowledge of Microsoft 365 desirable
- Good knowledge of German and English
