Senior Banking IT Transformation Project Manager

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Banking IT Transformation Project Manager to join our team at SAP Fioneer. As a key member of our Banking IT Transformation team, you will be responsible for leading one of the largest banking transformation projects in Germany and Switzerland.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the end-to-end delivery of the banking transformation project, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and customer requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, internal teams, and external partners.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, timeline, resources, and budget. Monitor and control project progress, making adjustments as necessary to ensure successful delivery.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, developing contingency plans to address potential issues.
  • Provide regular project updates to senior management and stakeholders, ensuring transparency and effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure all project deliverables meet the highest quality standards and adhere to regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Financial Product Subledger experts, to ensure cohesive and coordinated project execution.
  • Travel 50% of the time to various project locations within Germany and Switzerland.

Requirements:

  • University degree in economics, business administration, finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or PMP certification is a plus.
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience in project management, particularly in IT transformation projects within the banking or financial services sector.
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.
  • Extensive knowledge in one of the following bank areas and related IT systems would be a strong plus: bank management (finance, accounting, controlling, regulatory risk, reporting), core banking, lending, payments, card management.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
  • Excellent Excel skills and good technical understanding.
  • Highly reliable, detail-oriented, and the ability to always keep track of things.
  • Fluency in English is required and German preferred.
