In this position, you will engage in pioneering projects focused on deployable solar arrays and in-space manufacturing solutions, delivering lightweight and economically viable designs that ensure optimal power efficiency.
Your Responsibilities- Assist in the conceptualization and design of innovative deployable structures through comprehensive trade studies and validation processes.
- Perform structural evaluations of both test and operational hardware utilizing hand calculations alongside finite element analysis techniques.
- Create predictive numerical models to assess launch and deployment dynamics in both space and terrestrial testing environments.
- Contribute to the formulation of testing protocols and interpret the results of these evaluations.
- Engage in specialized analyses, including thermal and dynamic assessments.
- Work collaboratively with testing teams throughout various test campaigns.
- Effectively analyze and process both analytical and experimental data.
- Master's degree or PhD in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
- A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in FEM/FEA, ideally within the Aerospace sector.
- Proven experience in structural analysis pertaining to rockets, launch systems, or satellite operations.
- Familiarity with areas such as explicit dynamics FEM and rigid-body dynamics.
- Strong skills in data processing and visualization techniques.
- Proficient in English communication.
- Experience with software tools such as Ansys, LS Dyna, and Python.
- Background in modeling deployable structures.
