We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Analysis and Design Engineer to join our dynamic team at Deployables Cubed GmbH.

As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a crucial role in the design and analysis of deployable structures for space applications. Your expertise will be instrumental in shaping the next generation of space infrastructure.


About the Role

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the design of novel deployable structures through trade studies and early concept validation
  • Performing structural analysis of test and flight hardware using hand calculations and finite element analysis
  • Developing predictive numerical models to understand the launch and deployment behavior of deployable structures in space and during ground testing
  • Supporting the development of test plans and analyzing test results to verify that systems and components meet the requirements and specifications
  • Supporting other specific analyses, including thermal and dynamic analysis
  • Collaborating with test teams to ensure test correlation during test campaigns
  • Processing analytical and test data and implementing effective data visualization

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Master's degree or PhD in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (or similar)
  • At least 2 years' industry experience with FEM/FEA, preferably within Aerospace applications
  • Knowledge and experience of structural analysis with rockets / launch vehicles or satellite missions
  • Experience with at least one of the following fields: explicit dynamics FEM, rigid-body dynamics, buckling and post-buckling, launch analyses (sine / random vibration, shock), modeling of polymers and composite materials
  • Experience with the design of model validation experiments
  • Experience with data processing and data visualization
  • Fluent in English
