Logistics Coordinator (Maritime Freight Operations) Location: Bremerhaven, Germany Eligibility Criteria

Key Responsibilities

Planning: Assess the adequacy of contract berths, warehouses, and staging areas to meet cargo handling requirements. Review contractor-developed production schedules based on Worldwide Port System (WPS) data for ship operations and determine labor and equipment needs to ensure safe and efficient operations. Prepare pre-stow plans using stow planning software or manual methods for outbound cargo loaded onto Military Sealift Command vessels, adhering to safety regulations and maritime laws.

Contract Management: Act as the Contracting Officer's Representative, providing technical assistance and ensuring compliance with contract requirements. Conduct meetings with contractor management to clarify service expectations and verify contractor performance against established standards.

Operational Oversight: Monitor contractor and military port operator performance during loading and unloading activities. Coordinate military drivers and maintenance teams to optimize operational efficiency and minimize delays. Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.

Safety and Security: Provide safety instructions to personnel involved in vessel and terminal operations. Inspect equipment and cargo for compliance with safety regulations. Maintain the integrity of the chain of custody for cargo and report any discrepancies.

Coordination: Gather relevant cargo data and collaborate with various stakeholders, including stevedoring companies and military authorities, to ensure seamless cargo operations.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

- Completed apprenticeship in maritime commerce or related field, with at least 3-4 years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in office automation and a valid driver's license (class B) required.
- Language proficiency in English and German at Level B2 is mandatory.
