Position Overview

The Verification Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring that the developed Power Management Integrated Circuits (ICs) meet functional requirements within a laboratory setting. This position requires a deep understanding of the IC's functional specifications, the ability to formulate effective verification strategies for all features, and the creation of a comprehensive verification test plan.

The specialist will establish the necessary test bench configurations, which include designing hardware boards, and will code test cases in software. The execution of the developed test suite will involve data collection, analysis, and the generation of verification reports, all adhering to predetermined timelines.

This role is integral to achieving strategic objectives aimed at maximizing the automation of the verification test suite for Digital Power products within the Performance Power Business Division of Renesas Electronics. Proficiency in laboratory automation techniques, the design of modular and scalable hardware, and software reuse practices is essential.

The specialist will collaborate within a cross-site Verification Automation Team, reporting to a designated local leader. Success in this role hinges on effective teamwork, communication, innovation, and technical leadership.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering or a related field
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in post-silicon bench verification
  • Strong understanding of power management applications in consumer electronics
  • Familiarity with voltage regulators (Buck, Buck-Boost, LDO), including key parameters and measurement techniques
  • Advanced skills in laboratory automation, with a focus on enhancing existing manual processes
  • Expertise in analog and digital circuit design at the board level for PCB schematic development
  • Proficient in Python programming, particularly for laboratory automation hardware environments
  • Capable of troubleshooting unexpected issues and determining root causes
  • Ability to operate with minimal guidance
  • Results-driven and capable of meeting deadlines under pressure

Desirable:

  • Clear and effective communication skills, both internally and with clients
  • Ability to collaborate with engineers from various disciplines (circuit design, customer applications, software, QA)
  • Awareness and sensitivity to cross-cultural dynamics in diverse and multi-site environments
  • Willingness to undertake occasional international travel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
