Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior Propulsion Systems Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing the propulsion system of hybrid locomotives, ensuring they meet the highest standards of performance, efficiency, and safety.
Key Responsibilities- Design and specify the propulsion system for electric and hybrid-electric locomotives, taking into account customer requirements and technical specifications.
- Collaborate with international teams to implement customer requirements, design components, and support suppliers.
- Ensure seamless integration and operation of battery and hydrogen fuel cells, as well as electrical drive technology, operational management, and control.
- Participate in all phases of the project, from concept to bid preparation, technical implementation, discussions with customers, testing, delivery, and warranty.
- Stay up-to-date with market trends and requirements, guiding suppliers in the development of drive components.
- Contribute to the testing and improvement of propulsion systems in laboratory and vehicle tests, and support the homologation process.
- Masters degree in electrical engineering or mechatronics with a focus on drive technology and/or power electronics.
- Several years of professional experience in engineering, preferably in the field of electric drives and traction applications, with proficiency in simulation tools.
- Ability to understand and define complex systems, using a structured approach to problem-solving and documentation.
- Experience working with international teams and liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
- Fluency in English, with willingness to learn German up to level B2.
