Robert Bosch GmbH is seeking a highly motivated master's student to work on a thesis project focused on developing reinforcement learning-based control concepts for permanent magnet synchronous machines (PMSMs).

Project Overview

The goal of this project is to develop advanced control strategies for PMSMs using reinforcement learning techniques. The successful candidate will work on designing and implementing reinforcement learning-based tracking controllers for PMSMs with offset-free tracking.

Responsibilities

  • Develop reinforcement learning-based tracking controller concepts for PMSMs
  • Evaluate the developed controller concepts in simulation in comparison to state-of-the-art controllers
  • Benchmark the developed concepts at the test bench (optional)

Requirements

  • Education: studies in the field of Cybernetics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or comparable
  • Experience and Knowledge: in machine learning and control theory; MATLAB/Simulink and Python, ideally in DL frameworks; knowledge of electrical machines is a plus
  • Personality and Working Practice: autonomous, systematic working practice and analytic thinking
  • Languages: good in German or English
