Job Title: Lead Mechanical Designer

At Hatch, we are seeking a highly skilled Lead Mechanical Designer to join our Project Delivery Group (PDG). As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the development of functional plant arrangements and providing input to engineering management, engineering leads, and senior designers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement plant layouts that meet project requirements and ensure safe, clean, and maintainable facilities.
  • Coordinate with client representatives and functional groups to ensure layout changes are approved and implemented.
  • Assist in interpreting plant PFDs, P&IDs, and plant battery limits and constraints.
  • Develop and manage budgets and schedules for layout-related activities.
  • Participate in project reviews, such as constructability, operability, maintainability, and HAZOP.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Minimum 10 years of mechanical design experience on major multi-discipline projects.
  • Good understanding of maintainability, constructability, safety, and operating issues related to equipment.
  • Strong ability to analyze consequences of layout changes and prioritize best solutions as design progresses.
  • Good organizational skills and ability to manage individuals to attain quality, cost, and schedule objectives.
  • Strong leadership and coordination skills.
  • Fluency in German and English.
