Your Role and Responsibilities
In this position, you will oversee the functional design and development of locomotive control systems. This encompasses the entire engineering lifecycle, from defining requirements to concept development, system architecture, software engineering, and providing support during testing and commissioning.
- Develop functional specifications and establish system requirements for both software and hardware components.
- Design, implement, and validate PLC software applications tailored for locomotive control systems.
- Emphasize the reusability of your work results in alignment with product and technical platform strategies.
- Document software requirements and specifications meticulously.
- Collaborate with various departments and project teams to ensure cohesive integration solutions.
- Stay informed about the latest advancements in remote-control technologies and drive innovative practices.
Qualifications and Skills
- A bachelor's degree in engineering or a related discipline is essential.
- Several years of experience in PLC software development is required.
- Familiarity with railway systems and electrical interfaces is advantageous.
- Experience with radio transmission technologies and knowledge of EMC principles is a plus.
- A collaborative mindset with strong communication abilities is crucial.
- Fluency in English is necessary; knowledge of German is beneficial.
- Willingness to engage in occasional international business travel (approximately 10%).
