About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Test Engineer to join our team at designface GmbH, a leading recruitment company in the mobility industry. As a Test Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the development and testing of battery systems for our premium customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and execute tests for battery systems, including electrical and thermal performance, mechanical, abuse, crash, and environmental behavior.
  • Work closely with the Component Testing team to develop and implement testing strategies for battery systems.
  • Collaborate with electrical and battery engineers to ensure the qualification and verification of aircraft components.
  • Setup and execute tests of small- and large-scale prototypes, and provide valuable input for electrical, thermal, and mechanical battery engineers.
  • Plan and setup labs and lab equipment, and coordinate the preparation and execution of tests with partners.
  • Provide critical feedback to stakeholders on proposals for design changes, process adaptations, software bugfixes, and other related tasks.
Requirements
  • Test Engineer with hands-on experience in the battery field, at cell, module, or pack level.
  • Expertise in lithium-ion batteries is essential.
  • Experience with electrical and battery testing equipment, data acquisition systems, and battery test systems is required.
  • MSc, PhD, or equivalent degree in electrical/power/mechatronics engineering or a related field is required.
  • Strong knowledge of working in electrical labs and good practice of testing is essential.
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience in working with battery systems is required.
  • Knowledge of BMS Functions, CAN Systems, and general Test Bench Software is required.
  • Experience in electrical and battery testing equipment like high power supplies and loads, data acquisition systems, battery test systems is required.
  • EFK +AuS Status/Experience (Level 3E according to DGUV 209-093) for HV-Systems or similar hands-on experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of battery systems, particularly Li-ion batteries, is required.
  • Experience in the automotive or aerospace field is a plus.
  • Strong motivation to help build structures and processes is essential.
  • High level of self-reliance with the ability to work in a team, as well as autonomously, is required.
  • Target-oriented, driven work style with analytic problem-solving skills is required.
  • Fluent English language skills are essential, and fluent German or any other language would be beneficial.
