Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled Senior Backend Engineer to enhance and refine our digital advertising SaaS application suite. Utilizing technologies such as NodeJS with TypeScript, federated GraphQL, Docker, AWS, and Apache Kafka, you will be responsible for designing microservices and various backend components, as well as integrating data storage, monitoring, and protection solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain microservices and backend components.
  • Ensure optimal performance of databases and responsiveness to front-end requests.
  • Collaborate with developers, product owners, and stakeholders on the design and integration of system elements.
  • Create high-performance applications by writing testable, reusable, and efficient code.
  • Implement effective security protocols, data protection measures, and storage solutions.
  • Conduct diagnostic tests, repair defects, and provide technical support.
  • Document server-side processes, including database schemas, message events, and sagas, while preparing reports.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to processes and technologies.
  • Stay informed of advancements in the fields of AWS and related development.
  • Participate in code and technical design reviews.
  • Estimate workloads and write tasks for yourself and others.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to team members.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Backend Engineer or in a similar role.
  • Strong proficiency in NodeJS with TypeScript, web stacks, libraries, and frameworks.
  • Working knowledge of front-end technologies such as HTML5 and CSS3.
  • Experience with user authentication and authorization across multiple systems, servers, and environments.
  • High familiarity with fundamental design principles behind scalable applications.
  • Ability to create database schemas that represent and support business processes.
  • Good knowledge of event-driven architecture, message buses, and/or pub/sub systems.
  • Proven expertise in implementing automated testing platforms and unit tests.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient with git, npm, Docker, and Jira.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • Good project management capabilities.
  • Extensive experience mentoring teammates in a respectful and educational manner.
