Senior Gas Compliance Specialist

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Global Procurement division at BASF oversees procurement operations on a global scale. We engage in contract negotiations that deliver substantial value to BASF. Our primary focus encompasses the acquisition of raw materials, technical products, and services, along with logistics solutions. With our profound market expertise and comprehensive understanding of value chains, we serve as a crucial partner to various business units.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, you will contribute significantly to the Gas Governance and Regulations sector.
  • You will take charge of defining and documenting operational processes related to gas trading.
  • Your responsibilities will include establishing and overseeing our internal control framework, ensuring both efficiency and effectiveness, and developing relevant guidelines for gas trading.
  • Conducting compliance assessments and documenting the established internal controls will also fall under your purview.
  • You will create a training program tailored for our gas trading personnel.
  • As the internal point of contact, you will address topics such as REMIT, EMIR, MIFID II, MAR, and other pertinent regulations, ensuring adherence to all regulatory standards.
  • Additionally, you will maintain relationships and contracts with exchanges and network operators, as well as negotiate external trading agreements.
REQUIREMENTS
  • A completed Bachelor's or Master's degree in Economics or Natural Sciences.
  • Several years of experience in procurement, with a solid understanding of procurement processes and policies; project experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency in standard MS Office applications.
  • A collaborative team player with creativity, initiative, and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Effective and authentic communication skills in both German and English.
