Your Responsibilities

  • You will report to the Head of Data Protection and act as a DPO in Germany for certain German entities in the Energy Assets domain.
  • You will provide support to the business on data protection queries, answer subject access requests, and advise on Germany-specific data protection issues.
  • You will review data protection agreements, support in DPIAs, and maintain documentation in relation to entity compliance for reporting purposes.
  • You will travel on a regular basis to locations of the Assets to create and maintain relationships with local stakeholders and carry out audits or support in audits as necessary.

Your Profile

Essential:

  • Fluent in English and German.
  • Prior data protection related work, inhouse or in a law firm, is essential, with at least 5 years of experience in data protection.
  • Data Protection Certifications such as CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT or their equivalents from other certification bodies are mandatory.
  • Knowledge of data protection laws, including the GDPR/BDSG, and an understanding of how to assess technical and organisational measures.
  • Understanding of ISMS Audit requirements under ISO standards and BSI Basic Protection Requirements in relation to data protection.
  • Ability to liaise with multiple stakeholders and present complex technical topics to them.
