Key Responsibilities- Media Relations: Develop and maintain relationships with national and international media outlets, pitching stories and securing press coverage for our events and initiatives.
- Press Office Management: Coordinate and execute press conferences, press events, and other media-related activities to promote our organization's work.
- Content Creation: Write, edit, and distribute press releases, media advisories, and other communications materials to promote our events and initiatives.
- Media Monitoring: Analyze and report on media coverage of our organization, identifying trends and opportunities for further engagement.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with our communications team to develop and implement strategic communications plans, and provide support and guidance to other team members as needed.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
- Experience: 2-3 years of experience in public relations, science communications, or strategic communications, preferably in a non-profit or academic setting.
- Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling messages and stories for a variety of audiences. Strong media relations skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with national and international media outlets. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
