Are you prepared to play a pivotal role in transforming air mobility? As we progress towards the serial production of our innovative Lilium jet, we invite a technically proficient senior engineer, with extensive experience in aircraft systems integration, to join our dynamic team.
Your Role and Team:
In this position, you will serve as the technical representative for the manufacturing engineering product team, fostering strong collaborations with the Manufacturing Leadership organization. You will act as the primary liaison to our Technical Leads and Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), reporting directly to the Head of Manufacturing Engineering.
As the subject matter expert (SME), you will lead discussions and decision-making sessions regarding manufacturability, considering materials, methods, and costs. You will represent the manufacturing community with confidence, managing escalations and conflicts of interest from manufacturing engineers (MEs) while advocating for best practices in manufacturing engineering.
Your Daily Responsibilities:
- Advocate for MEs and production during daily stand-ups and priority meetings.
- Drive the acquisition of new technologies, systems, and factories to establish cutting-edge manufacturing processes.
- Guide your colleagues as the resident expert in various manufacturing processes.
- Ensure that technology development demonstrator roadmaps incorporate manufacturing feasibility trials alongside design development.
- Assist in design reviews and production readiness assessments for new products.
Your Profile:
We seek a credible and experienced technical leader with extensive expertise in aircraft production. A proven track record of involvement in high-impact programs from design inception to post-production is essential.
You should be a strong collaborator with demonstrated decision-making and conflict resolution skills, capable of managing cross-functional relationships with teams such as Design Engineering, Quality, Program Management, and Procurement while navigating competing priorities.
Key Qualifications:
- A relevant Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 10 to 15 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, supply chain quality, or industrial engineering related to aircraft production and integration.
- Exceptional analytical skills with a commitment to challenging the status quo. A willingness to learn, team-oriented, resilient, and passionate about achieving mission objectives. Familiarity with using failures as learning opportunities and maintaining a high sense of urgency.
- A hands-on approach with extensive collaboration with production teams to ensure continuous production flow.
