Key Responsibilities
Objective
The Maintenance Engineer plays a crucial role in managing service-related requests. This position involves maintaining the ticketing system and tracking issues for follow-up. The Maintenance Engineer is tasked with the technical resolution of service tickets and providing status updates on these tickets. Furthermore, this role includes advising the Service Coordinator on process enhancements.
The Maintenance Engineer serves as the primary contact for the Service Coordinator regarding service issues reported by clients, either directly or through the ticketing portal. Initiatives to enhance processes are implemented to drive business improvements.
Collaboration with the Service Coordinator is essential to ensure the Service Organization operates at peak efficiency, with a strong focus on resolving customer inquiries.
Additionally, the Maintenance Engineer will oversee the parts repair process in conjunction with the Warehouse, Production/Assembly, and Service Coordinator.
Core Functions
Essential Duties
- Respond promptly to service tickets and issues in collaboration with Service Support and the Service Coordinator.
- Prioritize and address service tickets, resolving queries related to AGV/AMR and equipment through effective troubleshooting using available resources.
- Provide administrative support for the service department as needed.
- Manage the Service Support phone line during business hours.
- Coordinate and prepare repairs to be executed within production.
- Assist production with repairs when necessary.
- Manage parts software configuration for outgoing parts within Production.
- Support effective tool management for the service team in collaboration with the Production Manager.
- Travel to customer sites for corrective maintenance and repairs as required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Additional Responsibilities
- Continuously evaluate and recommend improvements to service processes, including the development of these enhancements.
- Identify process improvements within adjacent departments and provide guidance to those teams.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and special projects as directed by management.
- Undertake other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- MBO/level 4 (Junior College) or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronic Engineering.
- At least 5-7 years of comprehensive experience in service or maintenance engineering, preferably with mechatronic systems in production settings.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a service or commissioning environment.
- At least 3 years of experience in developing or executing Verification & Validation plans.
- Proficiency in English and Dutch, with excellent communication skills; knowledge of German is a plus.
- Strong customer service orientation with a commitment to client satisfaction.
- Ability to work primarily from the office, with availability for travel to customer or supplier project sites as needed (primarily within the EU).
- Valid EU driver's license.
- Capability to work independently.
- Proven ability to quickly grasp and understand complex topics.
- Flexible approach, willing to undertake tasks beyond those outlined in this job description.
