About the Role

We are seeking an experienced IT Specialist to join our team at ESO - Europäische Südsternwarte. The successful candidate will be responsible for the administration and maintenance of our Microsoft infrastructure and/or web services and content management systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer and maintain Microsoft infrastructure, including Active Directory Services, Azure, M365, and Microsoft Teams.
  • Provide support to the current Microsoft Subject Matter Expert and peers.
  • Collaborate with the IT team to ensure the smooth operation of our IT services.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our IT services.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in the field of IT.
Requirements
  • A first-level university degree in any IT discipline or equivalent degree.
  • An excellent command of the English language - oral, reading, and writing - is essential.
  • A working knowledge of German and/or Spanish would be an advantage.
  • Several years of general IT experience in the administration of Microsoft Exchange, client management, and Windows Servers.
  • Experience in Microsoft Intune, Hypervisor management, PowerShell, and managing backup and recovery solutions.
