Role Overview: Product Safety and Compliance Engineer

As a key member of our team at OSB AG, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of safety and compliance. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting Product Regulatory & Compliance Processes: You will oversee the procedures related to product safety, ensuring all regulations are met.
  • Supporting Technical Documentation: Your expertise will be essential in developing manuals and procedures for our projects.
  • Researching Safety Regulations: Stay informed about relevant legislation affecting the construction, manufacturing, and maintenance of machinery and equipment.
  • Reviewing Conformity Requirements: Ensure compliance with market placement regulations and workplace safety standards.
  • Assessing Occupational Safety: Evaluate machines for ergonomics, noise, vibrations, and chemical safety.
  • Performing Risk Assessments: Apply EN ISO 12100 standards and other relevant machine safety standards in your assessments.
  • Guiding Developers: Provide insights on norms for mechanical protective devices.
  • Defining Technical Requirements: Specify needs for protective measures and electrical equipment safety.
  • Ensuring Functional Safety: Take responsibility for the safety of control systems, focusing on EN ISO 13849 requirements.
  • Conducting Verification Procedures: Implement validation processes and define requirements according to EN IEC 62061.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in engineering and manufacturing environments.
  • Expertise in creating hazardous substance instructions and conducting risk analyses.
  • Experience in assessing environmental compatibility of products during development is preferred.
  • Familiarity with the CE process and development of electrical, mechanical, and mechatronic systems.
  • Proficient in MS-Office applications.
  • Fluent in both German and English.
