Financial Management Accountant

In this pivotal role, the successful candidate will play a crucial part in ensuring robust financial governance and control, alongside the timely production of relevant financial and management reporting and analysis, to support our core operational territories.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee an efficient month-end financial closing process, ensuring timely and precise preparation and posting of manual journals, including accruals, prepayments, and transfer pricing, in accordance with the established Finance month-end schedule;
  • Maintain the integrity and accuracy of balance sheets by conducting monthly and quarterly reconciliations and preparing supporting documentation;
  • Deliver financial insights to senior management across Finance and the Business by generating accurate monthly management accounts, including variance analysis against forecasts and historical data, supplemented with insightful written commentary;
  • Collaborate with Office Heads in the review and analysis of KPI metrics on a monthly basis;
  • Support effective commercial and operational management by participating in monthly meetings with senior departmental managers to discuss results and identify key risks and opportunities;
  • Engage with Heads of Department and senior stakeholders in the preparation and ongoing review of quarterly forecasts;
  • Facilitate a smooth year-end audit process by undertaking advance planning, responding promptly to external auditor inquiries, adhering to the deliverables timetable, and fostering a positive relationship with external audit personnel;
  • Assist in the accurate and timely preparation of financial statements for major Group subsidiaries reporting under IFRS, as well as for any assigned branches with either IFRS or local reporting requirements;
  • Manage the ACCA/CIMA study requirements and ensure a structured approach to achieving the chosen qualification.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Part Qualified accountant, actively pursuing a professional qualification in Finance – ACA / ACCA / CIMA (full study support provided);
  • Prior experience in an accounting or finance role;
  • A strong desire to learn and advance;
  • Intermediate proficiency in Excel;
  • A university degree, preferably in Accounting, Finance, Business, or Economics;
  • Experience in Financial Services or a related field;
  • A demonstrated interest in financial markets;
  • Familiarity with finance systems (e.g., Oracle Financials, Hyperion Financial Management).
