Role Overview
Your mission in this innovative journey:
As a Senior Network Engineer specializing in IT/OT at Volocopter, you will play a crucial role within our Network Operation Center (NetOps). Your responsibilities will encompass managing and enhancing the processes and systems that empower our diverse and forward-thinking team to realize our vision for the future of mobility. You will oversee operational maintenance while also driving project delivery.
- Design and establish a cutting-edge, global network architecture along with relevant management protocols.
- As a senior member, ensure the effective delivery and ongoing enhancement of the Network Operation Center and its personnel.
- Maintain transparency regarding service availability and performance, while promoting efficient event management.
- Translate business needs into IT specifications and implement solutions in alignment with overarching design principles.
- Focus on Operational Technology (OT) within our production processes, forming the foundation for our intelligent manufacturing.
- Optimize and deploy the latest technologies while addressing escalated issues (2nd level support).
- Establish and maintain technical documentation and user manuals.
Required Qualifications
Evaluate your professional expertise:
- Degree in Information Technology or equivalent training as an IT specialist.
- Over 5 years of relevant professional experience in similar roles.
- Proven experience in implementing connected or embedded production systems utilizing Operational Technology (OT) such as Modbus, Profinet, or EtherNET (CIP).
- Strong knowledge in designing and monitoring cross-site network infrastructures (SSE, ZTN, SD-WAN, Azure Virtual WAN, BGP, etc.).
- Dependability, teamwork, and a high level of customer focus, combined with an independent work style.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with the design, operation, and management of both on-premises and cloud network infrastructures.
- Experience in operating Network Operation Centers and managing small teams, including necessary processes and budgets.
