This team is dedicated to creating robust Search, Recommendation, and intent collection systems that support our diverse brands, handling millions of requests on a daily basis. These systems are crucial for our online marketplaces, necessitating high standards of availability and performance to generate substantial commercial value. Your primary objective will be to continuously improve the consumer journey, ensuring it is seamless and enjoyable for users to locate what they seek. The ideal candidate will balance practicality with innovation, showcasing forward-thinking leadership capabilities. A key trait is the ability to deliver immediate business value while strategically investing in capabilities that promise greater long-term returns. As a Product Manager, you should possess empathetic listening skills, enabling you to identify and capitalize on opportunities with a variety of partners.
- Define the product vision, roadmap, and market entry strategy for Discovery Solutions
- Establish pertinent metrics to evaluate our success in achieving objectives and set clear targets for improvement
- Create decision-making frameworks to align partner teams and leadership on marketplace expansion. Influence peers and leadership for optimal results
- Serve as the primary point of contact for inquiries, clarifications, and guidance regarding Discovery solutions
- Develop effective feedback mechanisms with peers managing our brand portfolio and partner-facing teams
- Address critical dependencies and collaborate with peers in Data Science, Analytics, and other Platform teams to create efficient operational models. Partner with Engineering to make informed trade-offs between product and architectural investments
- Regularly communicate strategy, plans, trade-offs, and progress to the Consumer Leadership team through written and verbal updates
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in product management within an eCommerce or Marketplace context, with experience in coordinating value delivery in a complex system ownership environment being advantageous
- Experience managing globally distributed teams and overseeing communication and product delivery across various time zones
- In-depth understanding of Marketplace principles and a proven ability to leverage them for enhanced business outcomes
- Prior exposure to machine learning, knowledge of statistical data analytics techniques, and experience in comprehensive ML product delivery
- Demonstrated capability to translate business strategy into a detailed product roadmap with a positive, long-term impact on business performance
- Experience in feature delivery and managing trade-offs within a product
- Contributions to technology decisions and strategic discussions related to a product
- Data-driven mindset with expertise in defining appropriate metrics, collaborating with engineers and data scientists, and ensuring teams are motivated and accountable to meet targets
