This master's thesis presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to the field of battery technology at Mercedes-Benz. The focus will be on the development of advanced replacement models for battery cells utilizing neural network methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gain expertise in existing simulation tools and substitute models for battery cells.
  • Innovate methods for modeling battery cells aimed at optimizing computational efficiency while ensuring precision.
  • Leverage cutting-edge neural network advancements to accurately forecast the thermal and electrical characteristics of battery cell models.
  • Validate the developed models through comprehensive simulation and empirical data analysis.

The specific topic will be finalized in collaboration with the university and the involved parties.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Strong proficiency in object-oriented programming, particularly in Python.
  • Solid methodological foundation in machine learning and deep learning, with a focus on neural networks.
  • Familiarity with battery technology and simulation software such as StarCCM+ and COMSOL is advantageous.
  • Ability to work independently with a goal-oriented mindset and strong analytical skills.
  • Fluency in German or English is required.
