CMC Markets is seeking a skilled Financial Reporting Specialist to enhance our financial operations.
In this role, the incumbent will play a vital part in ensuring robust financial governance and oversight, alongside the meticulous generation of timely and pertinent financial and management reports and analyses, which are essential for the core markets where CMC operates.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- The Financial Reporting Specialist will facilitate an efficient month-end financial closing process, ensuring the prompt and precise preparation and posting of manual journals (including accruals, prepayments, transfer pricing, etc.) in accordance with the established Finance month-end schedule;
- Contribute to the integrity and precision of the entity balance sheets by executing monthly and quarterly reconciliations, while also preparing supporting documentation;
- Deliver financial insights to senior management across Finance and the broader Business by generating accurate and timely monthly management accounts, inclusive of variance analysis against forecasts and historical data, accompanied by insightful written commentary;
- Collaborate with Office Heads in the Financial Planning and Analysis review, scrutinizing and challenging KPI metrics each month;
- Support effective commercial and operational management by participating in monthly meetings with departmental senior managers to discuss results and identify key risks and opportunities;
- Engage directly with Heads of Department and other senior stakeholders in the preparation and ongoing evaluation of quarterly forecasts;
- Facilitate a smooth and effective year-end audit process by conducting advance audit planning, providing timely responses to external auditor inquiries as necessary, adhering to the deliverables timeline, and fostering a positive working relationship with external audit personnel;
- Assist in the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements for major Group subsidiaries reporting under IFRS, as well as for any assigned branches with either IFRS or local financial reporting obligations;
- Manage the requirements of ACCA/CIMA studies and work towards ensuring efficient and orderly progress towards achieving the chosen qualification.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Part Qualified accountant, actively pursuing a professional qualification in Finance – ACA / ACCA / CIMA (full study support provided);
- Prior experience in an accounting or finance role;
- A strong desire to learn and advance;
- Intermediate proficiency in Excel;
- A university degree, preferably in Accounting, Finance, Business, or Economics;
- Experience in Financial Services or relevant fields;
- A solid understanding or demonstrable interest in financial markets;
- Experience with financial systems (e.g., Oracle Financials, Hyperion Financial Management).
