Job Summary
We are looking for a Technical Director to join our Energy Team in Germany. As a Technical Director, you will be responsible for leading our Energy infrastructure-related activities in Germany. Your key deliverables will include:
- Further developing and supporting our energy business offerings
- Providing technical leadership and expertise
- Identifying new business opportunities and building strong relationships with local clients
Key Responsibilities
As a Technical Director, you will be responsible for:
- Setting the vision and priorities for Arup's Energy Business Plan in Germany
- Driving the continued growth and market recognition of the Arup Energy Business and Arup Brand in Germany
- Increasing Arup's work on Energy projects across existing and new clients to secure a strong pipeline of work with a focus on Transmission System Operators in Germany
- Developing and implementing new service pillars to further strengthen our existing service offerings in the fields of Renewable Energy Advisory (e.g. Technical Due Diligence, Project Management and Hydrogen)
- Contributing to both service offerings, Advisory Services as well as Engineering Design Services
- Providing technical leadership to complex projects in the space of power transmission networks, electricity interconnectors, green hydrogen or geothermal
- Promoting knowledge sharing skills and expertise in Arup across Europe
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- University degree in electrical engineering or other fields related to the energy sector
- 20+ years of experience developing and implementing energy projects with a strong engineering background
- 10+ years of experience leading project teams in the energy sector
- Very good knowledge of the German energy market with focus on large utility companies and a strong network in the German energy market
- Fluent in German and English (written and spoken)
