Postdoctoral Researcher in Computational Neuroimaging

We are seeking a highly skilled postdoctoral researcher to join our team at the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the Goethe University Hospital in Frankfurt.
Job SummaryThe successful applicant will be involved in the Transregional Collaborative Research grant (TRR 379) "Neurobiology of Aggression - a Transdiagnostic Approach in Mental Health Disorders", funded by the DFG.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct state-of-the-art research into the molecular underpinnings of aggression in mental health conditions
- Develop novel analytical frameworks for integrating Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) data with genetic and transcriptomic data to stratify mental health conditions
- Disseminate resulting software for its use within the wider scientific community
- Apply these novel analytical techniques to existing large-scale imaging genetics cohorts (clinical and non-clinical)
- Teach and supervise students, disseminate knowledge, and publish results in international peer-reviewed scientific journals
- PhD in (bio)informatics, computer science, or biomedical engineering
- Strong programming skills in R, C++, Python, and MATLAB
- Interest in big data analytics
- Knowledge in computational neuroimaging techniques and analysis using software packages like FreeSurfer or expertise in conducting genetic analyses, e.g. genome-wide association studies (GWAS) and computation of polygenic risk scores (PRS), is of advantage
- Experience in big data analysis and machine learning is desired, though not essential
- Valid proof of measles immunity / measles vaccination is required
