We are seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Researcher in Computational Neuroimaging to join our team at the Universitätsklinikum Frankfurt. The successful candidate will be involved in cutting-edge research on the molecular underpinnings of aggression in mental health conditions.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct state-of-the-art research into the molecular underpinnings of aggression in mental health conditions
- Work as part of the DFG-funded TRR 379 on Aggression in Mental Health Conditions, combining basic research with clinical applications
- Develop novel analytical frameworks for integrating Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) data with genetic and transcriptomic data to stratify mental health conditions
- Disseminate resulting software for use within the wider scientific community
- Apply these novel analytical techniques to existing large-scale imaging genetics cohorts (clinical and non-clinical)
- Teaching and supervision activities, knowledge dissemination, and publication of results in international peer-reviewed scientific journals
- PhD in (Bio)informatics, Computer Science, or Biomedical Engineering
- Strong programming skills in R, C++, Python, and MATLAB
- Interest in big data analytics
- Knowledge in computational neuroimaging techniques and analysis using software packages like FreeSurfer, or expertise in conducting genetic analyses; e.g. Genome-Wise Association Studies (GWAS) and computation of polygenic risk scores (PRS) is of advantage
- Experience in big data analysis and machine learning is desired, though not essential
