Senior High Voltage Systems Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior High Voltage Systems Engineer to join our team at Vaeridion GmbH. As a key member of our propulsion department, you will play a critical role in the design, development, and certification of our aircraft's high voltage systems.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the development and integration of high voltage distribution systems, ensuring compliance with safety and performance standards.
- Contribute to the definition, architecture, and sizing of high voltage systems, including battery systems, power electronics, and associated sub-systems.
- Develop physical and functional interfaces between high voltage systems and aircraft structure and related systems and disciplines.
- Coordinate high voltage system safety analysis and conduct system engineering tasks.
- Plan, coordinate, and perform high voltage system validation and verification activities according to aerospace standards.
- Develop and integrate high voltage system digital mock-ups with aircraft 3D models.
- Select, interact with, and manage suppliers for high voltage components, such as voltage converters, contactors, fuses, EWIS, and grounding systems.
- Lead the installation and integration of high voltage systems on an aircraft level.
- Coordinate and implement high voltage EWIS according to applicable safety and installation EWIS requirements.
- Participate in supplier Technical Review Meetings and Program Review Meetings, as well as major program milestones.
- Define and plan high voltage equipment qualification campaigns with suppliers and stakeholders.
- Support high voltage system hardware and software testing campaigns, from component test benches to full-scale prototypes, and aircraft ground and flight test campaigns.
- Provide full engineering support for prototype final assembly and integration ground tests.
- Ensure adherence to all engineering processes and standards and participate in design reviews to meet development and certification goals.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in electrical engineering or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in electrical systems design and integration within an aerospace OEM, with experience in electric aircraft a plus.
- Proficiency in high voltage system design and analysis, including risks such as arc faults, electric shock, inductive behavior, and EWIS process implementation.
- Practical experience with aircraft certification process, preferably EASA/FAA Part 23 or 25.
- Experience working in an EASA Part 21J Design Organization or international equivalent.
- Working knowledge of systems engineering and safety analyses per aerospace standards, such as ARP4754 and ARP4761.
- Experience with electrical load analysis and electrical system simulation.
- Assertive and clear communication skills, results-oriented, with a strong sense of ownership.
- Ability to interact efficiently with customers, authorities, suppliers, and internal organizational units.
- Proven ability to prioritize, manage, and execute multiple simultaneous tasks.
- Skilled in navigating early design uncertainties and driving progress through proactive proposals and collaborative idea sharing.
- Positive and optimistic attitude, with a collaborative approach in a multicultural team, adhering to company rules and values.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; proficiency in another European language a plus.
- Passionate about aviation and the electrification of the aviation industry.
