We are seeking a Development Engineer / Component Manager for electrical and cooling systems at our facility in Ettlingen, focusing on our Preclinical Imaging Instruments, which include Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Nuclear Molecular Imaging, and Magnetic Particle Imaging. Examples of the components you will oversee include power distribution units, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), heat exchangers, chillers, and more.
In this role, you will bear the technical and regulatory accountability for these components throughout their entire lifecycle, encompassing development, production transition, and ongoing engineering support. Additionally, you will manage the technical interfaces between the instruments and installation sites concerning electrical setups, cooling, and ventilation systems.

Responsibilities
- Lead engineering efforts in the internal and external development of PCI infrastructure components
- Serve as the technical and management liaison between external partners and Bruker for external developments
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards for components, including certification processes, regulatory updates, and recertifications
- Conduct technology exploration and assessment
- Identify and leverage potential synergies across various product lines
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including specifications and service manuals
- Oversee engineering modifications
- Provide ongoing engineering support and manage end-of-life considerations for all assigned components
- Identify lifecycle risks and propose new development or re-engineering initiatives
- Participate in Quality Meetings and manage corrective and preventive action (CAPA) cases; execute R&D action items
- Offer technical guidance for PCI Site Planning
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in electrical engineering, technical building services, or a related engineering field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical development related to electrical and cooling installations
- Practical knowledge of product safety and regulatory/certification requirements
- Foundational understanding and professional experience in product lifecycle management
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and SharePoint; familiarity with SAP is advantageous
- Excellent written and spoken technical English; willingness to learn the local language is preferred
