About the Role

The Sales Manager - Biotech/Biopharma will be responsible for driving sales growth and developing strategic relationships with key customers in the biopharmaceutical industry. This individual will be the primary point of contact for sales and application of PSG's biotech products, including Quattroflow, Malema, em-tec, and Quantex.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve incremental growth in the assigned territory, which includes Northern Germany, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and Finland.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, including biopharmaceutical companies, to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Manufacturing, and Finance, to manage projects, support customers, and grow sales.
  • Develop and implement route-to-market channel models for OEM, direct, and rep sales to maximize growth in a sustainable way.
  • Identify and capture market share from tube pump companies with dominance in the industry.
  • Report and document successes within the region, globally, and for marketing collateral.
  • Implement and regularly use processes like goal setting, tracking, and key project tracking.
  • Assist with creating sales, marketing, and other budgets to support biopharma activities and manage them responsibly.
  • Take a leadership position in an industry association or trade group, such as BPSA, ISPE, or ASME BPE.
  • Establish ties with leading biopharma higher education institutions in the assigned territory.
  • Be directly involved in key individual sales projects and ensure that correct data is collected and evaluated to confirm proper equipment match early in the sales process.
  • Train individuals serving the biopharma/life sciences market on the specific knowledge required to perform autonomously in this market.
  • Perform market analysis on a regular basis to understand how changing business conditions might impact the industry and remain proactive in defining actions to mitigate any potential impacts.
  • Assist PSG in developing Voice of the Customer initiatives to define new product opportunities.
  • Assist the PSG Director of Business Development to identify strong acquisition candidates that offer a significant opportunity for growth within the assigned market.
  • Provide raw material or access to marketing collateral generation and work closely with marketing to develop necessary tools.
  • Prioritize and lead trade shows (both PSG and distributor co-op) for maximum effectiveness.
  • Assist in developing, capturing, processing, and tracking of sales leads.
  • Interface with the global Biopharma sales team and serve as an example in information exchange.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of sales experience in the life sciences/biopharmaceutical industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a science-related field.
  • Self-sufficient and self-motivated with the ability to work with little supervision and communicate plans and outcomes effectively.
  • Willing to travel outside Germany up to 60% of the time, with the expected breakdown: Sweden (30%), Denmark (15%), Finland (10%), and Norway (5%).
  • Attend trade shows and meetings as needed, maintaining records necessary for effective planning.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), experience with Salesforce, and effective use of modern technologies to leverage time.
  • Able to demonstrate technical problem-solving prowess.
  • Clear, concise, and articulate verbal, written, listening, and interpersonal skills at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to multi-task and perform in a dynamic environment, including conducting business support tasks while traveling on business.
  • Self-starter with the ability to solve problems, anticipate, and avoid issues.
  • Impeccable organization and efficiency skills, and strong attention to details.
  • Able to maintain a positive attitude and energy while interfacing with a wide array of individuals and balancing multiple tasks.

  • Professional Level or Native Fluency in German & English (C1 & above).
Desired Characteristics
  • 3+ years of experience working inside the life sciences/biopharmaceutical industry, with an understanding of the sales process and certification requirements in this industry.
  • 3+ years of experience in selling pumps, sensors, and/or instrumentation solutions, specifically in the biopharma market.
