Crop Science Extension Coordinator

The Division of Agriculture of the University of Arkansas is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to fill the position of Program Technician – Rice Agronomy. This is a grant-funded position with employment contingent upon satisfactory performance.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in compiling, analyzing, and communicating research data related to rice agronomy.
- Help plan, plant, maintain, spray, collect data, and harvest plots in rice and related rotational crops.
- Supervise test plot maintenance and chemical application, collection of samples, test evaluation, and data collection.
- Field sites will be located on research stations and production fields throughout the state.
- Bachelor's degree in agriculture or a related field is required.
- Relevant work experience in small and large block field trials is preferred.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and other relevant computer programs is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in driving, maintaining, and operating agricultural equipment is highly preferred.
The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects and deadlines. The position requires the ability to exercise initiative, make sound judgments, and assume responsibility for various projects and activities. The candidate must be able to respond positively to direction from supervisors and work without direct supervision.
