Position Overview
The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a dedicated professional to deliver comprehensive Career and Technical Education in the field of business software applications. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in guiding students to achieve the necessary competencies within this trade.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality instruction in business software applications.
- Facilitate student learning through effective classroom and lab management.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations in the lab environment.
- Maintain precise and up-to-date student records.
Essential Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess the ability to engage students through personalized instruction and collaborate effectively with both students and aides in a classroom setting. A solid understanding of adult education policies and procedures is required, along with proficiency in relevant computer software.
Education requirements include:
- A four-year degree in Business or Information Technology, or
- A High School Diploma with equivalent experience.
Licensure Requirements
In addition to the educational qualifications, candidates must be eligible for a Collegiate license from the Department of Education with an endorsement in the business or information technology area. Those without a four-year degree must hold an 'MS Office Specialist' Certification and be eligible for a teaching certificate.
Additional Considerations
Preferred candidates will have:
- A minimum of five years of experience in the relevant field.
- Experience teaching in adult or alternative education settings.
- Familiarity with the policies governing adult education.
Successful candidates will also demonstrate the ability to manage a classroom effectively and supervise students in a correctional facility.
