Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Business Software Applications Teacher to join our team at the Commonwealth of Virginia. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing effective Career and Technical instruction in the business software applications area, assisting students to complete required competencies, and maintaining accurate student records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide effective Career and Technical instruction in the business software applications area
  • Assist students to complete required competencies for the trade area
  • Maintain accurate and current student records
  • Demonstrate effective classroom or lab management
  • Ensure the lab is operated in compliance with all aspects of safety management
Requirements
  • Four years degree in Business/Information Technology or High School Diploma with equivalent experience
  • Must possess working knowledge of basic adult education field, adult literacy, and computer software appropriate for program needs
  • Experience in maintaining classroom, equipment, and inventories
  • Demonstrated competency in the related field of current trade licensure
  • Knowledge and success rate in GED Preparation and completion
Preferred Qualifications
  • Five years' experience in the related trade/field
  • Knowledge of all phases of the trade area
  • Experience teaching adults and/or youth in a correctional or alternative education setting
  • Knowledge and experience of policy and procedures governing adult education
