Cyber Defense Center Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cyber Security Analyst to join our Cyber Defense Center team at Materna. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the IT security of our customers.
As a Senior Cyber Security Analyst, you will be responsible for analyzing potential risks and developing effective countermeasures to minimize the risk of cyber security attacks. You will work closely with our team to identify and analyze security incidents, document relevant steps and results, and support other analysts in their work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze security incidents to identify and analyze them, and initiate or recommend suitable measures.
- Document all relevant steps and results of investigations.
- Support other analysts in their work and provide guidance as needed.
- Analyze complex security incidents and track individual steps taken by attackers using in-depth technical knowledge.
- Define standardized procedures and coordinate them with relevant stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities to simplify workflows or activities through automation and support their implementation.
- Take on tasks as part of customer onboarding to ensure smooth and efficient service delivery.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A successfully completed degree with a focus on IT/engineering and several years of professional experience in the IT security environment.
- Extensive knowledge of common TTPs (Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures) of attackers and approaches to recognizing them.
- Experience in handling and knowledge of common security tools and solutions, such as SIEM, EDR, NDR, and IDS/IPS systems and solutions.
- Profound knowledge of common operating systems, network infrastructures, and IT architectures (on-prem and cloud).
- Experience with the Microsoft 365 Defender Suite and the Elastic Security solution, as well as corresponding certifications, are an advantage.
- An analytical mindset, solution-oriented, and structured way of working, as well as a confident manner towards customers.
- Very good command of written and spoken English (C1) and basic knowledge of German.
