Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) Engineer to enhance our operations at Guardian Industries. This role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with environmental and safety regulations while fostering a culture of safety within the organization.
Your Responsibilities
• Cultivate expertise within operational teams to recognize and mitigate EHS hazards.
• Design, execute, and oversee EHS initiatives and operational best practices, including but not limited to Hazard Communication, Confined Space protocols, Respiratory health measures, and Energy Control procedures.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies regarding environmental matters.
• Maintain and enhance ATEX and fire safety systems and processes.
• Assist management in implementing behavior-based safety programs.
• Develop EH&S frameworks to ensure the plant meets compliance requirements and that all personnel possess the necessary skills to adhere to EH&S policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with plant leadership on incident investigations, ensuring thorough root-cause analysis, appropriate follow-up actions, and effective incident reporting.
• Monitor safety and training metrics within the facility and generate reports for management as required.
• Actively advocate for the Guiding Principles and a culture of Principled Based Management throughout the organization, focusing on compliance, hazard awareness, incident prevention, risk management, open communication, and knowledge sharing.
• Establish a strong presence and foster productive relationships with operational teams.
Qualifications
• Completed engineering degree (Bachelor's and/or Master's) with a focus on environmental science, occupational health and safety, or a related field.
• Relevant experience in environmental, health, and safety management within a manufacturing environment.
• Comprehensive understanding of environmental, health, and safety regulations and standards.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing occupational safety and health protection programs, as well as in environmental management and corporate environmental stewardship.
• Proficient in both spoken and written English and German.
• Competent in MS Office applications.
• Strong commitment and proactive approach.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including verbal, written, and negotiation abilities, with a strong service-oriented mindset.
