Position Overview

Gilbane is in search of a Project Manager II to oversee our forthcoming initiatives. This role is essential for ensuring the successful execution and financial performance of construction management projects.

Your Role

In this position, you will act as the primary on-site manager, guiding the project team and ensuring that all aspects of the project align with Gilbane's standards of excellence. You will be responsible for mentoring project staff, including Project Engineers and Superintendents, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspire and lead the project team while maintaining a constructive work atmosphere.
  • Implement established project management protocols and controls.
  • Conduct thorough constructability and coordination assessments.
  • Liaise with stakeholders, including owners, architects, and subcontractors, regarding project risks, timelines, budgets, and change orders.
  • Oversee pre-construction planning, scheduling, and financial management.
  • Develop subcontracting strategies and manage the bidding process.
  • Generate monthly reports covering costs, schedules, safety, and cash flow for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide leadership in safety and quality assurance on-site.
  • Formulate contingency plans to address potential risks and enhance project profitability.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
  • 5-10 years of experience managing projects valued at $50 million or more.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
  • Previous experience with US Government or military projects is preferred.
  • A fully adjudicated Secret security clearance is required.

Skills and Competencies

  • Exceptional technical and communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment.
  • Familiarity with Procore and Microsoft Office is advantageous.
