Position OverviewThe Abbott Automation Solutions division is currently seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join our team, where we focus on developing highly modular laboratory automation solutions.
As a Lead Software Engineer, you will collaborate closely with systems engineering to shape the software architecture of our laboratory automation solutions. We emphasize model-based software development and a continuously evolving software architecture that encompasses microcontrollers, embedded systems, and server applications.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain a strategic focus on technology and product development to ensure future requirements are feasible and that the software architecture remains maintainable and scalable.
- Analyze user needs and develop corresponding application cases and requirements.
- Innovate and enhance the software architecture.
- Define and model architecture, interfaces, and behaviors using UML.
- Evaluate system reliability and identify potential failure scenarios.
- Develop testing methodologies and procedures.
- Support development in design, manufacturing processes, and troubleshooting.
- Document architecture and its requirements comprehensively.
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for solutions within interdisciplinary teams.
- Successfully completed a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Several years of professional experience in software architecture, preferably within the medical technology sector or another regulated environment.
- Familiarity with UML/SysML in model-based development is advantageous.
- Experience leading complex system and risk analyses.
- Strong conceptual and analytical skills.
- A passion for understanding complex systems and developing innovative and effective technical solutions.
- Independent work style, initiative, strong communication skills, and teamwork capabilities.
- Proficient in both German and English.
